To Stand Alone

Barefoot we tread, we wander

Fabric ripped from our souls in the rain

When wet, the earth pushes back kinder

It conforms to the smooth footprint's grain

We dash on, we climb, we wander

Our soundtrack the musings of leaves

When it rains, the earth pushes back stronger

And some ounce of our fears He relieves

Ever lonely and wearied, we wander

Restless hope in our soles start to groan

When wet, the earth cares for us deeper

And pushes our footsteps toward home
